KGM New Zealand's Torres Hybrid: Powerful, Efficient, Sustainable

KGM New Zealand is set to introduce the Torres hybrid later this year, marking a significant step towards sustainable motoring. This new model will join the existing petrol range in 2025.

The Torres hybrid will be front-drive, powered by a combination of a 1.5-litre petrol engine and a 1.8kWh LFP Blade battery from BYD. This setup delivers a combined power output of 244kW, with 112kW coming from the petrol engine and 132kW from the electric motor.

In electric mode, the Torres hybrid can reach speeds of up to 100km/h. Its combined fuel consumption, measured using the WLTP standard, is estimated to be between 5.8-6.1l/100km. The hybrid model will be available in entry-level and Ultimate specifications, providing options for various budgets and preferences.

The current petrol Torres models in New Zealand range from $39,990 to $44,990. Pricing for the hybrid variant is yet to be announced.
