Kia's 2026 Telluride: First Hybrid, Fresh Design, and Advanced Interior
Kia is preparing for the future of its popular Telluride SUV. The next generation, set to debut in 2026, will introduce a hybrid powertrain for the first time, while retaining its current 3.8-liter V-6 engine with an electrified option. The Telluride, one of Kia's bestselling vehicles in the U.S., will also sport a fresh, boxier exterior design.
The new Telluride will be the first in its lineup to offer a hybrid powertrain, marking Kia's commitment to expanding its electrified offerings. This comes as the Telluride faces newer competition, including Kia's own electric SUV, the EV9. The upcoming model will also feature a sleek, single display panel for both the digital gauge cluster and infotainment touchscreen, enhancing driver experience.
The Telluride's redesign, expected in 2025, will bring sharper lines and a boxier rear, while maintaining the signature Kia grille and light shape. This redesign will be accompanied by a similar overhaul of the related Hyundai Palisade, both set to debut in 2026. Kia is open to offering either a regular or plug-in hybrid powertrain for the Telluride, but not both, to cater to a wider range of customer preferences.
The 2026 Kia Telluride will introduce a hybrid powertrain, a fresh exterior design, and an advanced interior. This next generation, following record sales in 2023, will continue to compete strongly in the U.S. market, despite facing newer competition. Kia's commitment to innovation and customer choice ensures the Telluride remains a top contender in its class.
