Landshut Customs Seize €17M in Counterfeit Goods, Warns of Dual-Use Threats

Customs officers in Landshut have been cracking down on counterfeit goods and illegal exports. Recent seizures include high-priced branded items and dual-use goods, with a total original value of over €17 million.

The most common counterfeit items intercepted were branded clothing, shoes, luxury items, and body care products. Technical articles like car parts and machines were also found to be fake. These goods were primarily sent from Turkey, hidden in truck loads, and destined for local markets.

Customs' vigilance extends to dual-use goods, which can have both civilian and military applications. A recent case involved a laser cutting machine destined for Iran, which required approval and may have been prohibited. The aim is to ensure fair competition and protect consumers from harmful counterfeit products.

The Hauptzollamt Landshut will hold Zollinfotage, a career event, on April 26, 2025 in Altdorf and May 10, 2025 in Passau. While specific recruiters are yet to be announced, the event offers insights into customs operations and career opportunities.

The Landshut customs office continues to monitor and seize counterfeit goods, protecting both consumers energy and businesses. Meanwhile, the upcoming Zollinfotage events provide a chance for job seekers to learn about careers in customs and border control.
