LG introduces automaton server at a dining establishment in Seoul
In a recent development, South Korean tech giant LG Electronics has introduced its service robot, the Cloi ServeBot, at a restaurant in Seoul. The first Cloi ServeBot is now operational at CJ Foodville's Cheiljemyunso restaurant, a popular noodle franchise located in downtown Seoul.
According to a report by ZDNet, the Cloi ServeBot is designed to aid in food delivery at restaurants. The robot is equipped with the ability to autonomously navigate around obstacles while carrying and delivering food trays to customers. This makes it particularly useful for handling hot foods and heavy trays, thus reducing the workload for restaurant staff.
The Cloi ServeBot can carry and deliver up to four food trays to customers autonomously. After customers have finished their meals, the robot can return to collect trays and bring them back to the kitchen. This efficient and automated service is expected to enhance the dining experience for customers and streamline operations for the restaurant.
In a separate development, care-giving robots have been deployed at Seoul National University Hospital. However, it's important to note that these deployments are not related to LG Electronics or the Cloi ServeBot.
