Louis Vuitton Revives Monterey Watch Line Thanks to Tyler, the Creator's Influence
Louis Vuitton has revived its classic Monterey watch line, thanks to a surge in interest sparked by rapper Tyler, the Creator's influence on the watch market.
The original Monterey watch, introduced in 1988, was designed by renowned architect and designer Gae Aulenti. It offered features like world time, GMT, and date displays, or date and time with an alarm function.
The new Monterey watch pays homage to its predecessor with an updated design. It boasts an elegant enamel dial with a red and blue chemin de fer minute track and black Arabic indices. The watch also features a matching red and blue skeletonised syringe handset. Housed in an upsized 39mm, 18-karat yellow gold case with a pebble-like profile and notched 12 o'clock crown, the new Monterey watch is a stylish addition to Louis Vuitton's horological collection.
Louis Vuitton's revival of the Monterey watch line is a testament to the power of influence in the watch market. Tyler, the Creator's impact has not only increased the value of the Monterey II watch but has also led to the creation of a new, upsized version. The new Monterey watch, with its luxurious design and rich history, is set to make a significant impact on the watch industry.
