Luxury Rides for Travelers: Dubai Police's Elite Vehicles for Visitors' Delight - Luxury rides for tourists: Experience Dubai Police's high-end supercars

For over two decades, a special squad within the Dubai Police has been cruising the streets with high-end supercars that outshine even the wildest dreams in terms of cost and speed. While these officers aren't chasing down wrongdoers or traffic lawbreakers, their main goal is to serve as entertaining and eye-catching landmarks for tourists. Today, more electric vehicles have joined the gang, making both police officers and visitors quite smitten - as long as the motor purrs with sufficient power.

Cruising the Attractions

On a chilly Dubai evening at "The Frame," a group of police officers, dressed in ceremonial uniforms, present an assortment of the latest automotive masterpieces to the public. Ali Yousif, a seasoned officer who has served his country for two decades, is currently stationed here. He's steering a 918-horsepower electric Lotus Emeya, his colleague is piloting a Rolls-Royce Cullinan Mansory, and others are manning a Bentley Continental GT, an Audi R8, and even a Tesla Cybertruck.

Origin Story

"The supercar craze began in 2001," noted Ali Yousif, who wouldn't look out of place in a leading role in any action film thanks to his green uniform. "Currently, our squad boasts 18 cars, all stationed at tourist hotspots to ensure order and safety."

When it comes to the flashiest rides, the Dubai Police's supercar fleet doesn't disappoint. The collection of luxury vehicles is vast: Ferrari Gran Lusso, Lamborghini Urus, Porsche Panamera, Rolls-Royce Cullinan, Bentley Continental, BMW 8 Series Coupe, or Mercedes AMG GT.

While Ali Yousif skillfully maneuvers the electric Lotus, his colleagues are busy patrolling hotspots like Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall with other jaw-dropping luxury cars.

Granting Wishes

Manufacturers across the globe are dumping their most expensive, high-performance patrol vehicles on the Dubai Police, who are all too happy to show them off at events and attractions. "We're essentially ambassadors for our nation, acting as contact points for tourists," Ali explains. "No wild car chases here – that's for our other units."

Arguments over who gets to drive which suped-up patrol vehicle? Nary a dispute, as the million-dollar (around 240,000 euros) automobiles are assigned via a simple duty roster – just like regular patrol cars like BMW 5 Series, Audi A6, or Nissan Patrol. Rotations between units and departments ensure police officers stay sharp and adaptable.

Armed and Dangerous… and Stylish

Lamborghini, for example, has supplied the Dubai Police with an array of captivating patrol vehicles, including a 666 horsepower Urus Performante capable of reaching speeds up to 306 km/h. Dubai Police Commander-in-Chief, General Ahmed Mohammed bin Thani, stated, "The powerful Super SUV will aid our officers in responding efficiently to incidents and providing services to residents at popular tourist locations."

Their patrol vehicles, painted in the signature white and green, are outfitted with blue LED lights and special features like a weapon safe, first aid kit, or defibrillator for emergency situations. When necessary, they can even dash to a nearby hospital.

Police officers undergo regular training on various vehicles to ensure they can handle these powerful engines swiftly. The Supercar Police unit serves as just one of the many roles within the local force. Officers often switch between departments and units. For Ali Yousif, serving in the Supercar unit, alongside his fellow officers, is a delight.
