Mario Party Event Expands with Added Game Modes: More Fun Than Ever Before!
Super Mario Party™ Jamboree, the latest instalment in the beloved series, is set to release on Oct. 17. This exciting new game offers a variety of game modes and features, providing hours of entertainment for players of all ages.
One of the standout additions is the Party-Planner Trek, a single-player mission mode designed for those who want to get familiar with the new game boards and enjoy single-player experiences. In this mode, players help NPCs by completing tasks and minigames to collect Mini-Stars, culminating in boss minigames. The ultimate goal is to unlock decorations for the Party Plaza.
For those who prefer multiplayer action, Minigame Bay offers over 110 minigames to play. Up to four players can participate locally or online, with options for motion-controlled or button-controlled games. This mode allows players to freely play any minigame or specific sets selected by type or theme.
Another exciting feature is the Rhythm Kitchen, a collection of cooperative rhythm-based minigames themed around cooking. Players can slice, skewer, scoop, and more to the beat. Up to four players can compete in these motion-controlled, rhythm-based cooking minigames. However, it's important to note that Rhythm Kitchen minigames are not compatible with online mode or Nintendo Switch Lite.
Paratroopa Flight School is another new feature where up to two players can fly like a Koopa Paratroopa using Joy-ConTM controllers. In this mode, players can compete, work together, or simply fly around with no rules. This mode generally supports cooperative multiplayer, typically up to four players.
In addition to these modes, Super Mario Party™ Jamboree also features the previously mentioned modes: Mario Party, Bowser Kaboom Squad, and Koopathlon. The traditional Mario Party board mode allows up to four players to participate locally or online with enhanced options such as "Tag-Team" and "Frenzy" rulesets.
For those who enjoy cooperative gameplay, Toad's Item Factory offers a physics-based puzzle where players move contraptions to achieve goals. The game also includes Carnival Coaster, a cooperative mode for 3 or 5 players where participants work together controlling a roller coaster and playing rounds of minigames.
In Boss Rush, players compete in every boss minigame to achieve the highest score, unlocked after earning 30 achievements. Up to four players can participate in this mode.
Lastly, Super Mario Party™ Jamboree introduces two new rulesets for the Mario Party mode: Tag-Team Rules and Frenzy Rules. In Tag-Team Rules, 2-on-2 team battles take place on the board, allowing cooperation and combined dice rolls. Four players participate in teams of two. Frenzy Rules, on the other hand, is a fast-paced 5-turn match starting with extra coins and items. It supports up to four players.
In summary, Super Mario Party™ Jamboree offers diverse gameplay experiences with different multiplayer capacities, leveraging Joy-Con motion, Joy-Con 2 mouse controls, and standard Joy-Con use. Whether you prefer single-player adventures, cooperative gameplay, or competitive challenges, there's something for everyone in this exciting new game.
