John Good has been toting sticks for the likes of Rush's Neil Peart, Michael Jackson, and Frank Zappa. His magic touch has now gifted us with the SonicPly technology.
Over two long years of experimentation, Good got down to the nitty-gritty of blending airplane-grade aluminum and North American maple plies with a top-secret adhesive formula. The result? A drum shell that seamlessly integrates the best of both worlds, striking the perfect balance between wood's warm, rich sound and metal's sharp, cutting attack. This unique duo offers drummers a whole new world of sound ready to conquer.
SonicPly comes in sizes ranging from 10" to a whopping 24", with each shell consisting of eight plies of maple fused with a 0.6mm core of aluminum. The snare drums crank things up a notch, boasting no less than twelve plies of woody goodness teamed with two aluminum sheets, ensuring a warm, resonant tone that blends perfectly with a crisp, snappy attack and sustained thump - a sound that's truly out of this world.
