Naver Investment Chief appointed as Poshmark's new CEO
New Leadership at Poshmark: Kim Nam-sun Takes the Helm
Kim Nam-sun, a seasoned executive from South Korea’s largest online company Naver, is set to take over as CEO of Poshmark from October 1, 2023.
Previously serving as the president of investments at Naver, Kim has been providing strategic guidance to Poshmark since the company was acquired by Naver in January 2023 for $1.2 billion. He was appointed as the Executive Board Chairman of Poshmark in April 2023.
Kim Nam-sun has an impressive track record, having served as Naver’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for three years and overseeing global strategic and venture capital investments.
Poshmark, North America’s largest secondhand fashion resale platform, is poised for further growth under Kim’s leadership. He succeeds Manish Chandra, the co-founder and longtime CEO who led Poshmark’s growth from a garage startup to a Nasdaq-listed company with over 150 million users and a gross merchandise value exceeding $10 billion.
Kim is "honored and excited" to take on the role as CEO of Poshmark. He expressed confidence in guiding Poshmark's next chapter, stating his commitment to building upon Manish Chandra’s legacy at the company. Kim's role at Poshmark is to improve operational efficiency and achieve business goals, with the aim of accelerating innovation and supporting Naver’s expansion into global commerce and AI markets through Poshmark’s platform and recently acquired assets like the Spanish resale platform Wallapop.
Manish Chandra, the outgoing CEO, led Poshmark with steadfast determination, steering the company through its meteoric rise. His departure marks the end of an era, but his legacy will continue to shape Poshmark’s future under Kim Nam-sun’s leadership.
