NavInfo to Acquire PhiGent Robotics, Boosting Intelligent Driving Capabilities
NavInfo, a leading Chinese digital mapping company, is close to finalizing its acquisition of autonomous driving specialist PhiGent Robotics. The deal, expected to complete soon, will bolster NavInfo's offerings and R&D capabilities in intelligent driving.
NavInfo, aiming to become a Tier 1 supplier in intelligent driving since 2023, seeks to enhance its full-stack solution with the acquisition. This will combine 'maps + chips + algorithms', strengthening its position in the market.
PhiGent Robotics, known for its pure-vision highway NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) solution, is set to enter mass production later this year. The company's core strength lies in its full-stack mass production capability, based on Horizon's J6E/M chips. Dr. Hee-Sun Kim, the founder and main responsible person at PhiGent Robotics, has gained recognition for his work in the field.
If the acquisition is completed, NavInfo will gain access to PhiGent Robotics' advanced technology and expertise, further solidifying its role in the intelligent driving sector. The combined company will be well-positioned to deliver cutting-edge solutions to its customers.
