Neuruppin's Power Boost: 60 MW Battery Storage Facility Coming in 2027

A significant power boost is on the way for Neuruppin residents. A 60 MW, 240 MWh battery storage facility is being constructed in Brandenburg to safeguard the city from outages and stabilise the regional national grid.

The facility, set to begin construction in 2026 and be operational by 2027, will provide up to 12 hours of power for approximately 32,000 residents. It's designed to balance grid fluctuations in near real-time, offering services like primary reserve (FCR), secondary and minute reserve (aFRR/mFRR), and black start capability.

Located in Kränzlin, Ostprignitz-Ruppin district, this large-scale park is one of Germany's largest approved public storage facilities. It's a project by re.venture GmbH from Berlin, which has received building permission. The region, rich in renewable energy generation, will benefit from reduced grid congestion and lower system costs, making it a more attractive location for storage units near me.

The battery storage park, set to begin construction next year and complete in 2027, will provide power security and grid stability for Neuruppin residents. It will also bring regional economic benefits through trade tax and cooperative models with the municipality. With modular architecture allowing for future expansion, it's a forward-thinking investment in the region's energy infrastructure.
