New business venture establishes headquarters in Krakow, Poland, adding 300 engineering positions to the workforce - reasons revealed

In an exciting move, Bitpanda, the European digital asset platform, is expanding its operations and establishing a world-class Technology & Innovation Hub in Krakow, Poland. The company has set its sights on new markets, including Turkey, France, Italy, and Poland, as it continues to grow and evolve.

The Krakow Tech Hub will house full product teams that will deliver end-to-end products and features, working closely with the existing Vienna office. Bitpanda plans to employ a team of 300 at the new Tech Hub, and the company secured the largest Series A funding round in Europe in 2020, totalling $52 million. This significant investment will drive the growth and development of the Krakow Tech Hub.

The company is looking to attract and hire skilled professionals from the whole region for the Krakow Tech Hub. Positions sought include Backend Developers, Web and Mobile Developers, Machine Learning and QA Engineers, DevOps, Blockchain Engineers, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters. Bitpanda will recruit highly qualified engineers for their tech hub, focusing on software developers and technology experts skilled in financial technology and digital asset platforms.

The core challenge for the Krakow Tech Hub will be to build a product that can scale seamlessly for millions of users during a bull run. To meet this challenge, the Tech Hub will have fully-fledged teams in Poland and Vienna that will work on their own products. The addition of stocks and ETFs is one of the projects in the company's roadmap, as Bitpanda builds a neobroker that can hold various asset classes beyond cryptocurrencies and precious metals.

The Tech Hub will also feature so-called Chapters, including all Android developers, allowing for the exchange of ideas regardless of location. The goal is for these teams to learn from each other, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. The proximity to Vienna was one of the reasons why the Tech Hub was opened in Krakow, allowing teams to meet in person after the Corona crisis is under control.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, the engineers hired will work from home. However, the company is looking to hire top talent for its Krakow office, with open positions available on Lever, LinkedIn, and justjoin.it. The company doubled its team size to 280 in 2020 and has rolled out Polish language versions across all its services, demonstrating its commitment to the Polish market.

As Bitpanda continues to expand and improve its existing product offerings, the Krakow Tech Hub will play a crucial role in driving the company's growth and innovation. The company is excited about the opportunities that lie ahead and looks forward to welcoming new team members to the Bitpanda family.
