Newly Enhanced Geometric Factory Sim, Shapez 2, Introduces 3D Building Capabilities, Improved Trains, and a Limited 30% Discount Until Next Week.
Shapez 2, a standout factory simulation game, has been served up with a hefty dose of improvements thanks to the Dimension update. This update brings fresh dimensions to factory building by introducing 3D platform creation, making the gameplay more complex and interesting.
Now, you can construct foundational platforms, conveyor belts, pipes, and train rails in various vertical layers, elevating your factory designs to new heights.
As for trains, these mechanical workhorses have received a makeover, boasting expanded color palettes for easy identification and practical enhancements like transfer stations, which allow resource shifting between trains. Two new train station types have also been added – quick stops for instant loading/unloading and wait stops that allow a train to load and unload for up to 30 seconds.
Other updates include tweaks to launchers, making it possible to customize their range. New platform types and a more efficient shape-mapping system are also part of the package. To top it off, the user interface has undergone a significant overhaul, with new hotkeys for convenient game functions and improved contextual placement.
Accompanying the update are visual improvements and numerous bug fixes. Although the update requires a minor fee, older savegames may require replacement as they aren't entirely compatible. The developer advises importing older savegames into the update or loading them in the 0.0.9 branch on Steam first if you have a real hankering to continue playing from where you left off.
To celebrate the update, developers tobspr Games are offering a 30% discount until June 10, bringing the price down to $17.50 (£14). If you've been hesitant about trying Shapez 2 due to its early access status, now might be the perfect time to dive in.
