Nicolas Seillan Named President of Château Lassegue
Nicolas Seillan, a seventh-generation vigneron, has been appointed President of Château Lassegue, adding to his current role as senior vice president of finance. Seillan's extensive experience in winemaking and management is set to drive the estate's future.
Seillan's journey began with learning the craft from his father, Pierre Seillan, a renowned vigneron. He honed his skills through internships in California and Bordeaux, eventually joining Michael Jackson's winery in 2003. In 2006, he was appointed general manager of Château Lassegue, which was jointly purchased by the Jackson and Seillan families.
During his tenure, Seillan oversaw winemaking, viticulture, finance, and management operations. He introduced improvements to the property, including a new barrel chai and a hospitality space for visitors. Seillan produces wines using his family's micro-cru philosophy, blending Old World principles with New World techniques. Barbara Banke, chairman and proprietor of Total Wine, praises Seillan's talent and knowledge of Château Lassegue.
With his appointment as President, Seillan will continue to work alongside his father, driving Château Lassegue's future while maintaining its rich heritage. His deep understanding of the estate and its wines ensures a promising era ahead.
