Nissan Ariya's pricing set at surprising levels, revealed for the Australian market
The Nissan Ariya electric SUV, set to hit the market in 2025, will offer four main variants, each with a unique balance of power, range, and features.
- Engage (Base Variant)
- Powertrain: Single electric motor, front-wheel drive
- Power: 160 kW and 300 Nm torque
- Battery: 63 kWh lithium-ion
- Range: Approximately 385 km (WLTP)
- Acceleration: 0-100 km/h in about 8.0 seconds
- Price: Starts at AUD 55,840 (before on-road costs)
- Features: Entry-level electric driving with soft ambient interior lighting and woodgrain dashboard trim
- Advance
- Powertrain: Single motor, front-wheel drive
- Power: Same 160 kW and 300 Nm torque as Engage
- Battery: 63 kWh
- Range: 385 km (WLTP)
- Weight: Slightly heavier than Engage (1921 kg)
- Acceleration: 0-100 km/h in around 8.0 seconds
- Features: Higher specification than Engage, similar range and consumption (18.4 kWh/100 km)
- Advance
- Powertrain: Single motor, front-wheel drive
- Power: 178 kW and 300 Nm torque
- Battery: Larger 87 kWh
- Range: Extended to 504 km (WLTP)
- Weight: Over 2000 kg (2075 kg)
- Acceleration: Slightly slower 0-100 km/h in 8.1 seconds due to weight
- Electricity consumption: 19.1 kWh/100 km
- Features: Longer range, bigger battery, higher equipment level
- Evolve e-4ORCE (Flagship Variant)
- Powertrain: Dual-motor all-wheel drive (one motor per axle)
- Power: Combined 290 kW and 600 Nm torque
- Battery: 87 kWh
- Range: Not explicitly stated for Australian spec, but expected close to Advance+ range
- Weight: Heaviest at 2222 kg
- Acceleration: Quickest, 0-100 km/h in 5.6 seconds
- Price: Around AUD 71,840 before on-road costs
- Features: Performance-focused, dual-motor AWD e-4ORCE technology, premium interior with power-sliding center console, and advanced tech including soft “Andon” illumination and haptic-feedback touch buttons
The smaller battery delivers up to 385 km of WLTP range, while the larger battery can get the car to 504 km in the single-motor Advance+ variant. The Advance variant comes with a Bose 10-speaker premium sound system. The Ariya can get from 10-80% charge in around 35 minutes for the Advance+ and Evolve variants.
The Ariya will be available in four variants: Engage, Advance, Advance+, and Evolve e-4orce. The top-spec Evolve features a 320 kW AWD powertrain, which can help the car accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.6 seconds. The Engage variant has a starting price of $55,840, while the Evolve has the highest price of $71,840.
