Plug-in Hybrid Version of Skoda Kodiaq Tops Sales Chart, Boasting Two Energy Sources
The 2025 edition of the Skoda Kodiaq premieres as a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model, bolstering its already impressive sales credentials.
More than just an electrified version, the new Kodiaq PHEV offers an electric driving range of over 100 kilometers, making it suitable for daily commuting and reducing reliance on fossil fuel consumption.
Measuring 4.76 meters in length, the Kodiaq remains the largest SUV in the Skoda lineup, positioning it among premium mid-size competitors. Despite its size, it outpaces the fully electric flagship Enyaq by around 10 centimeters.
Powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine and an electric motor, the PHEV model delivers a combined 204 horsepower. This hybrid setup promises a smooth and responsive driving experience for both city and highway driving.
The battery, twice the size of its predecessor (25.7 kWh), allows the conventional internal combustion engine to be turned off for extended periods. Remarkably, this charging technology is now shared with the Superb sedan, the longest Skoda model at around 4.90 meters in length.
