Prepare for an array of upgrades at the WWDC Apple Event, encompassing enhancements for iOS, macOS, iPadOS, watchOS, and additional systems.

Get ready for WWDC 2025! On Monday, June 9, Apple is hosting its next big event, the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). This software and developer-focused event promises exciting updates for iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and even Apple Intelligence. But don't expect any new hardware - it's software all the way!

Want to catch the action live? Check out our guide on how to watch WWDC 2025.

Expect significant changes for various platforms:

  • iOS 26 amd iPadOS 26: A major design overhaul and updates to key apps like the Phone, Camera, and Safari. A new gaming app featuring a unified game library and achievements is also in the works.
  • macOS 26: A fresh visual style and interface refresh, making it a revision since iOS 7.
  • watchOS 12: AI-powered workout motivation and analysis via a new feature called Watch Buddy.

While Apple Intelligence will take center stage, the focus is likely on device-wide upgrades, including smarter message suggestions, improved automation via Shortcuts, and AI-powered health coaching.

There might be a few surprises too, such as personalized snooze settings for alarms and AirPods that automatically pause media playback when you fall asleep.

As for hardware, Apple usually saves those announcements for later in the year, likely September. The iPhone 16e, the latest product from Cupertino, only came out recently, so hardware updates might not be the main attraction this time around.

Are you excited for WWDC 2025? Stay tuned for more details and updates!

P.S. In a disruptive shift, Apple has started naming their operating systems using the last two digits of the year instead of incremental numbers (e.g., iOS 19 becomes iOS 26 for 2026). This change reflects the more profound changes we can expect from Apple's software ecosystem.

An upcoming gaming app, potentially a part of iOS 26 or iPadOS 26, could offer a unified game library and achievements, signifying advancements in gaming, a realm of technology. Additionally, anticipate enhancements in the camera app on the iOS platform, suggesting improvements in computing technology and image capturing capabilities via cameras.
