Professional Evaluation of Asus ProArt PA32QCV: A 32-inch 6K Screen Offering Rich Pixels, Color, and Luminosity
The ASUS ProArt PA32QCV, announced at Computex 2024, is a 31.5-inch 6K resolution content creation monitor set to be released in early 2025. This monitor, equipped with an IPS panel, Thunderbolt 4 in and out, multiple USB ports, and a 5-year warranty, promises to be a powerful tool for creators.
One of the standout features of the PA32QCV is its LuxPixel technology. This technology, exclusive to ASUS, improves viewing angles, making it comparable to those of an OLED display. However, the monitor's screen uniformity deviation, while typical for an IPS monitor, is not expected to surpass that of other brands' displays.
The PA32QCV monitor boasts a rapid response time of 16ms, ensuring smooth visuals during content creation. Despite this, its refresh rate of 60Hz may not be suitable for fast-paced gaming. It's worth noting that the monitor's screen uniformity deviation, at 9.44%, is not a significant concern for content creation, nor does it affect its suitability for fast-paced gaming, as the refresh rate is already a concern in such scenarios.
The PA32QCV includes Adaptive-Sync, which enhances motion processing, but using overdrive and AS simultaneously is not possible. The monitor's screen uniformity is not a factor that affects its video processing, as it is not specifically game-focused.
The top view of the PA32QCV shows reduced brightness and a red tint, but this is still an improvement over typical IPS screens. The side view of the monitor shows no change in colour, brightness, or gamma.
The PA32QCV does not have uniformity compensation like some professional screens, but its screen uniformity is not a major concern for content creation, unlike its response time and input lag. The absolute input lag for a full black to white transition on the PA32QCV is 56ms.
Interestingly, ASUS's LuxPixel technology is expected to appear on other brands' displays in the future, potentially revolutionising the content creation landscape. The PA32QCV, with its impressive response time, viewing angles, and LuxPixel technology, is poised to be a valuable addition to any content creator's arsenal.
