Publishing firm YGG unveils new division, debuts initial title 'LOL Land' game.
Yield Guild Games (YGG) has ventured into a new domain within the gaming industry with the launch of YGG Play, a publishing division dedicated to casual, crypto-centric titles - dubbed "Casual Degen" games. The company's debut title, LOL Land, is a browser-based board game that has garnered over 100,000 pre-registrations ahead of its release, according to YGG.
Aimed at the "Casual Degen" market, LOL Land incorporates characters from the Pudgy Penguins community and boasts a built-in token reward system. The game is available exclusively on Pudgy Penguins' Abstract Chain.
Consistent with YGG's mission to cater to niche gaming communities, LOL Land adopts an approach that prioritizes enjoyment and rewards for community-oriented crypto gamers. LOL Land features four themed boards, showcasing the Pudgy Penguins intellectual property, with playable characters inspired by community members.
The game offers two play modes - free and premium. In the free mode, players can access unlimited rolls without receiving token rewards. Meanwhile, the premium mode requires token purchases in exchange for points redeemable for YGG tokens from a $10 million prize pool.
Through its expedition into the realm of gaming, YGG hopes to capitalize on its expertise in the crypto gaming sphere. Gabriel Dizon, co-founder of YGG, draws on his two decades in casual game development and subsequent involvement in Web3 gaming to ensure that LOL Land resonates with its intended audience.
