In a groundbreaking development, a pump station is being constructed under cramped conditions, utilising trenchless engineering technologies to minimise disruption and maximise efficiency.

The construction necessitates special solutions, with the smooth inner pipe surface ensuring optimal hydraulic flow. To address the challenges posed by the tight spaces, Hilti has developed an innovative shaft piping technology. This technology is designed to facilitate the installation of pipes in confined areas.

In another significant development, Altro-Tec has introduced a new pipe cleaning technology. This technology, a combination of suction and flush, is designed specifically for use in cramped spaces, making it ideal for the current project.

The new pipe cleaning technology works by using a powerful suction system to remove debris from the pipes, followed by a flush to ensure thorough cleaning. This technology will be instrumental in maintaining the optimal flow of water through the pump station.

Inspection of the rainwater pipe is possible using HS laser and a cleaning opening in the shaft interior. The shaft structures enable simultaneous media derivation through a common shaft structure, making it suitable for the cramped space conditions.

The shaft bodies have a low self-weight, making them easy to transport and install in excavations. Properly compacted, the externally profiled shaft pipe effectively prevents flotation, ensuring the structural integrity of the pump station.

Wastewater is conveyed via an open channel, while rainwater drainage is achieved through a closed HS pipe that touches the shaft wall laterally. This design ensures efficient water management within the pump station.
