Qualys Launches New Cloud Service to Swiftly Combat Zero-Day Threats
Qualys has launched a new cloud service, Custom Assessment and Remediation, to help security teams swiftly tackle zero-day threats. This comes after the Log4Shell vulnerability highlighted the need for a centralized solution to scale custom scripts across entire IT environments.
The prevalence of homegrown, customized applications complicates timely remediation of zero-day threats. Managing and responding to these threats often demands custom approaches outside of existing security programs. This was evident when a large healthcare provider struggled to detect and remediate Log4Shell due to inefficient collaboration, complex analysis, and disjointed decision-making.
Qualys' new service allows security teams to script, execute, and automate assessment or remediation tasks on any endpoint infrastructure or application. It reduces mean time to remediate (MTTR) by up to 50% and eliminates the need for security teams to rely on IT Operations for script execution. This is particularly useful given that zero-day threats require immediate response, posing challenges to security teams. The service is designed to empower security teams to rapidly respond to immediate threats through custom scripts and security controls.
Qualys Custom Assessment and Remediation is a centralized solution that scales custom scripts across the entire IT environment. It addresses the challenges faced by enterprises in various industries in responding to Log4Shell and other zero-day threats. By reducing MTTR and enabling swift, automated responses, it strengthens an organization's security posture.
