Quickborn House Fire: Residents Safe After Swift Response
A fire broke out at a single-family house in Quickborn on Friedrichsgaber Street at 07:34 AM on September 3, 2025. Thick smoke and flames were seen coming from the attic, prompting a swift response from local fire departments. Upon arrival, Chief Fire Officer Wido Schön found the residents had already evacuated due to smoke detectors. He upgraded the incident to FEU 2, alerting the volunteer fire departments of Ellerau and Quickborn. A drone equipped with a thermal imaging camera was deployed to locate remaining hotspots. A technical advisor from the THW was also alerted to provide advisory support. Firefighters carried out an interior attack under respiratory protection, starting the fire fighting process. The roof covering was opened from the outside to extinguish further fire sources in the roof area. A decontamination point was set up for heavily soiled respiratory protection forces. The German Red Cross provided food and drinks for the deployed forces. The fire at Friedrichsgaber Street in Quickborn was successfully contained and extinguished. No casualties were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
