Fast, Convenient EV Charging Comes to Maryland
Electrify America and Royal Farms have joined forces to bring Hyper-Fast EV charging stations to eight locations across Maryland, making it easier for drivers to go electric without compromising speed or comfort.
The partnership sees more than 55 individual chargers installed at these convenience stores, with speeds of up to 350 kW. This means that compatible electric vehicles can be charged in as little as 20 minutes. The first stations are already operational in Halethorpe and Oxon Hill, with more stations planned for Annapolis, Catonsville, Charlotte Hall, Columbia, Pikesville, and Towson.
The collaboration becomes part of Electrify America’s nationwide network of over 1,000 stations and 5,000 chargers. Customers can pay via credit/debit card, Electrify America’s Plug&Charge technology, or through the mobile app, which also assists with locating chargers, pricing information, and monitoring charging progress.
Royal Farms highlights that this partnership supports their commitment to accessibility, convenience, and advancing sustainable energy solutions for the communities they serve. The chargers are placed at Royal Farms locations where customers already come for fuel, food, and convenience, enabling drivers to easily recharge both their vehicles and themselves with access to fresh food and beverages during charging.
Meanwhile, EnergySage, a free service that connects users with pre-vetted solar installers, aims to make the transition to solar energy more effortless. According to Electrify America’s vice president of operations, Anthony Lambkin, the partnership aims to make the EV experience more effortless. On the other hand, Royal Farms’ fuel & environmental leader, Thomas Ruszin, said the move is part of their effort to meet changing customer needs.
As the federal solar tax credit is ending this year, now might be the perfect time for those considering solar energy to take advantage of this service. Users can get started with EnergySage here.
Including Royal Farms' EV charging stations, sustainable energy solutions in Maryland now extend to green energy sources like solar power too, as EnergySage provides a platform to compare solar quotes and make the transition to solar effortless.
