Step aside, Apple, Samsung's got some moves! The tech giant is about to drop the jaw-dropping Galaxy S25 Edge - a smartphone that's as thin as a razor yet boasts the same power as its peers. And just in time for Apple's predicted iPhone release in four months.

The S25 Edge was more than just a rumor, with Samsung flaunting it at the Mobile World Congress back in March. But they kept the technical nitty-gritty under wraps, until today's announcement of this ultra-slim phone.

Extra Slim, Extra Power

The S25 Edge's claim to fame? Its extreme thinness - measuring just 5.84 millimeters, with a humongous 6.7-inch display. It's so lightweight, it practically hovers at 163 grams. Compared to the standard Galaxy S25 with a 6-inch screen, it's only 0.2 millimeters slimmer and weighs the same.

But Samsung didn't compromise on performance. The Edge boasts an AMOLED display that's insanely sharp and offers an adaptive refresh rate of 1 to 120 Hertz.

Top-Notch Performance, "Ultra-Good" Cam

Under the hood, the Edge packs Qualcomm's finest, the Snapdragon 8 Elite. Paired with 12GB RAM, it's mighty and ready for action. To cool things down in its slender frame, Samsung squeezed in a vapor chamber. While performance might dip slightly during heavy use, it should go unnoticed in our day-to-day tasks.

The Edge sports three cameras: an optically stabilized main cam with a resolution of 200 MP inherited from the Ultra, an ultra-wide-angle camera, and a selfie shooter with the same resolution.

Robust and Ready, But How Long Will it Last?

The S25 Edge is built like a tank, too. It's got a titanium body, IP68 dust and water resistance, and front and back protected by Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 and Victus 2. But the big question remains: battery life. With a 3,900mAh battery, it's got a smaller juice pack than the other S25 devices. Samsung promises up to 6 hours of "screen time", but only testing will tell how that translates to real-world usage.

If you need a quick charge, you can do so wirelessly at up to 15 watts, or with a cable at up to 25 watts.

Price Tag for that Sleek Design

The S25 Edge comes at a price. Its sleek, lightweight design will set you back 100 euros more than the standard S25+, reaching around 1250 euros for the 256GB flash storage version. Planning to go for the model with 256GB storage? That'll cost you around 1370 euros. Preorder by May 29, and you'll get a larger storage version at the price of the less equipped Edge.

The S25 Edge's success or demise could be a game-changer for Apple, as they're rumored to release an ultra-thin iPhone in September. Will Samsung's lead set the bar for Apple's upcoming phone? Stay tuned to find out!
