Samsung to Introduce One UI 8 Beta Imminently: Confirm Eligible Devices, Regions, and Release Date
In an exciting development for Samsung users, the tech giant has announced the launch of the One UI 8 beta program, set to debut with the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. The new operating system, based on Android 16, is expected to arrive alongside these devices in July.
The One UI 8 beta will initially be available for the Galaxy S25 series, with the beta program expanding to include older devices such as the Galaxy S24 series, Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, and select Galaxy tablets from early August 2025. Initially, the beta program will be available in select countries, including the United States, South Korea, Germany, the United Kingdom, India, and Poland.
The beta program, which can be accessed through a new Beta Program Home within the Samsung Members app, serves as a streamlined hub where users can view all active beta programs, join, leave, or update them, as well as access beta tips and rollbacks.
While the Galaxy S25 series is confirmed to receive the stable One UI 8 update in September 2025, older flagships like the Galaxy S24 series and foldables such as the Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 will follow suit shortly after. The stable rollout is expected to extend to other eligible devices, including the Galaxy S23 series, Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, and Galaxy A series.
Interestingly, the Galaxy S25 Edge may not receive the One UI 8 update anytime soon, according to reports. On the other hand, the Galaxy S25 FE is rumoured to come pre-installed with the Android 16 update.
Samsung is currently rolling out the Android 15-based One UI 7 to older devices worldwide. The One UI 8 beta build, "S938BXXU3ZYER", has been spotted on Samsung's servers for the S25 Ultra, indicating that testing is underway.
