Samsung's newly introduced feature, 'Now Bar', now offers users the calculated chances of victory alongside live sports scores
Samsung Now Bar Gets Live Win Probability Feature for Sports
Samsung's Now Bar, a popular lock screen widget introduced with the Galaxy S25 series, has received an exciting update – a live win probability feature for sports matches. This new addition provides real-time data on the likelihood of each team winning during games.
The feature is powered by Google Sports, integrating real-time winner predictions based on statistical analysis delivered through the Google App. Now Bar users can now see continuously updated percentage chances for each team, reflecting the live state of the match. The feature appears as a bar or graph on the Now Bar and also in the notification panel.
Currently, the win probability feature supports at least baseball, cricket, and soccer, although Samsung has not published a complete list of supported sports yet. With the expansion of Now Bar's capabilities planned by the end of 2025, more sports may be added to the list.
This update is rolling out as a server-side update to Samsung Galaxy phones running both One UI 7 and One UI 8, meaning users do not necessarily need to upgrade their device firmware or apps manually to receive it. Updating the Google App and ensuring a reboot can help with the feature's deployment.
The win probability feature has already been demonstrated in high-profile matchups, including Championship games between Southampton and Wrexham, and an MLB game between the Chicago Cubs and the St. Louis Cardinals.
While the win probability feature can be useful for betting purposes and getting a sense of the expected outcome of a match, it's important to note that the data may not accurately reflect the outcome once the game is underway. After the match begins, live updates replace the win probability numbers.
In addition to the win probability feature, Samsung is planning to nearly double the number of supported apps and services on Now Bar from about 20 to 35 by the end of 2025, further enhancing the utility of the widget.
