Going Bananas with SIM Cards 📱🚫🔒

Hey there! It's been confirmed that starting September 1, 2025, you'll be able to opt-out of signing up for mobile communication services contracts through Goservices or MFC, due to a new law tackling cyber fraud.

Familiar with "Goservices"? Already offering SIM card services, it allows citizens to virtually inspect the quantity and subscriber numbers of registered SIM cards associated with their account across various operators. No need to reach out to different operators to confirm if there are suspicious 'gray' SIM cards—just log in to your account and block 'em!

Since April 1, adjustments to the "Communications" law have rolled out, including operator limitations: Russians can't snag more than 20 SIM cards, and foreigners, 10. If you're a Russian found with "extra" SIM cards, don't forget to kick them to the curb by November 1. Otherwise, everyone else needs to say goodbye by July 1. Yep, all part of the big plan to quash pesky mass fraudulent calls.

Rockin' those SIM cards 📱

  1. By 2025, Russians will have to counteract their current practice of obtaining more than 20 SIM cards, as per the new law that targets industry-wide cyber fraud.
  2. The Russian finance sector, alongside various others, will significantly impact the technology industry by implementing changes that reduce the prevalence of mass fraudulent calls.
  3. In an effort to reduce fraud, Russian citizens can use Goservices to opt-out of signing up for mobile communication services contracts after September 2025.
  4. In a progressive move towards transparency and security, Goservices provides services that enable users to identify and block 'gray' SIM cards associated with their account, thus acting as a security measure in the financial sector and technology landscape.
Russians can self-restrict SIM card registration through 'Gosuslugi' or MFTS as of September 1, 2025, according to State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin.
