Showcasing IPMX Advancements at InfoComm 2025: Focus on Recent Progressions in Media Sharing Technology
The Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS) is set to make a significant return to InfoComm 2025, scheduled for June 7-13 in Orlando, Florida. At booth 3089, AIMS will highlight the latest advancements in Internet Protocol Media Experience (IPMX) — a collection of open standards-based protocols designed to foster interoperability within AV-over-IP systems.
In collaboration with AIMS members, including intoPIX, Cobalt Digital, Matrox Video, Macnica, Nextera Video, Meinberg USA, Megapixel, and EvertzAV, live demonstrations of IPMX-powered systems will be presented in kiosks dispersed throughout the booth.
Andrew Starks, an AIMS board member and director of product management at Macnica, expressed enthusiasm over the impressive strides IPMX has made in the past year. He explained that IPMX is now on the verge of market readiness, with advanced, tested technology that is primed for professional AV environments. At InfoComm 2025, Starks and his colleagues aim to showcase that IPMX is no longer just a technology for the future, but a solution near-ready for deployment.
InfoComm 2025 follows the IPMX Tested Event 2025, a multi-vendor interoperability milestone conducted at EvertzAV in Burbank, California. This event brought together 12 companies to validate system behavior, as well as video and audio compatibility across IPMX profiles.
In preparation for broader industry adoption, AIMS is currently developing self-test procedures and crafting a marketing label system aimed at aiding manufacturers in clearly communicating which IPMX profiles their products support.
In addition to booth activities, AIMS will contribute to InfoComm's education program. Sam Recine, an AIMS board member and vice president of strategic partnerships at Matrox Video, will present the session "Compatibility in IP-Based Media Systems Across Product Classes" on Wednesday, June 11, from 4-5 p.m. in meeting room W312C.
Earlier in the same room, on June 11 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., Recine will join Panasonic's Mike Bergeron and Peyton Thomas for the panel "Designing a Network for Live Video to Support Broadcast Quality Production in a Workplace Context."
With these announcements, AIMS is moving closer to bringing scalable, flexible, and secure AV-over-IP systems to the professional AV market. InfoComm 2025 serves as a pivotal platform to demonstrate these advancements and underscore the technology's readiness to industry stakeholders.
- At InfoComm 2025, visitors can expect to see live demonstrations of IPMX-powered systems, using advanced technology from AIMS members, showcasing avoip systems that are flying close to market readiness, thanks to data-and-cloud-computing breakthroughs.
- During the education program at InfoComm 2025, Sam Recine from Matrox Video will lead a session titled "Compatibility in IP-Based Media Systems Across Product Classes," where he will discuss the latest audio standards within IPMX, playing a crucial role in bridging the gap between high-quality AV-over-IP systems and the professional AV market.
