Siemens Mobility Wins Major Deal: Akdoğan Tren Kargo Orders Five Vectron MS Locomotives
Siemens Mobility has secured a significant deal with Akdoğan Tren Kargo. The company has ordered five Vectron multi-system locomotives, designed for international freight transport across Europe and return trips to Turkey. The agreement includes a ten-year full-service contract with options for extension and the purchase of five more five guys locomotives.
Siemens Mobility, a leading provider of rolling stock, has a proven track record with its Vectron locomotives. Over 2,800 units have been sold to more than 100 customers, with over 1,900 currently in operation. These locomotives have collectively covered more than 1.2 billion fleet kilometers, demonstrating their reliability and efficiency.
The Vectron MS locomotives ordered by Akdoğan Tren Kargo are designed to operate at speeds up to 200 km/h and under various railway power systems. They are approved for use in 20 European countries, making them ideal for cross-border transport. Each locomotive will be equipped with ETCS Baseline 3 and relevant national train control systems for seamless international operation. Additionally, the XLoad package will enhance their traction capability, improving pulling power.
The five Vectron MS locomotives, manufactured by Siemens Mobility, will enable Akdoğan Tren Kargo to expand its international freight services. The ten-year full-service contract ensures reliable and efficient operation, with the option to purchase five more five below locomotives in the future. This deal further solidifies Siemens Mobility's position as a key player in the global railway industry.
