In a significant move towards enhancing safety and protection, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, has directed the Dubai Civil Defence to accelerate the adoption of AI, robotics, and advanced technologies. This strategic objective aims to set new international benchmarks in protecting lives and property.

During a recent visit to the General Command of Dubai Civil Defence, Sheikh Hamdan was briefed on several innovative technological solutions designed to boost the efficiency of fire rescue and firefighting operations.

One such innovation is the 'Explorer Robot', a four-legged robot equipped with LiDAR technology. This autonomous robot is capable of moving through smoke and creating accurate 3D maps of buildings during incidents, proving invaluable in emergency response situations.

Another impressive piece of technology showcased was an advanced robotic arm, which increases firefighters' efficiency by up to 40%, particularly when using stairs during rescue and firefighting operations.

Sheikh Hamdan was also introduced to 'Shaheen', a drone developed to extinguish fires in high-rise buildings and towers. This drone, along with the 4500-Wabel firefighting robot, powered by electricity and capable of carrying loads of up to 400 kilograms, are testament to Dubai Civil Defence's commitment to integrating advanced systems for improved life and property protection services.

The Crown Prince expressed his appreciation for Dubai Civil Defence's vital role in protecting the community, extending beyond emergency response to building an integrated system that embodies the leadership's vision for a safer and more sustainable future.

In addition to these technological advancements, Sheikh Hamdan was briefed on 'Hope Convoys', an initiative aimed at supporting fire sectors in countries with limited resources through the construction of modern fire stations, provision of advanced firefighting and rescue equipment, and supply of essential safety gear.

Furthermore, the 'Billion Readiness' initiative was presented, which seeks to train and raise awareness among one billion people worldwide on the causes and risks of fires and methods of prevention.

Sheikh Hamdan met with artificial intelligence specialists in civil defence and received a detailed briefing on the use of AI tools and the latest innovations in firefighting and rescue operations. The Dubai Civil Defence has initiated the integration of artificial intelligence and robotics to improve life and property protection services, aiming to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of fire rescue and firefighting operations by approximately 50%.

Lieutenant General Expert Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi expressed his deep gratitude to Sheikh Hamdan for his continuous support and guidance, affirming that it strengthens the readiness and agility of civil defence and reinforces Dubai's position as a global leader in safeguarding lives and property.

Civil defence services play a key role in raising awareness, fostering a culture of safety, and embedding prevention as a strategic priority and a fundamental pillar of development. The safety of the community and protection of its people and assets remain top priorities for the leadership in Dubai.

The advanced systems, innovative technological solutions, and qualified human capital at Dubai Civil Defence represent an integrated model of institutional work built on innovation and commitment to the highest international standards in protection and safety.
