Stellantis Boosts AI Capabilities with CloudMade Acquisition

Stellantis, the world's fourth-largest automaker, has recently acquired CloudMade's artificial intelligence frameworks. This move will enhance Stellantis' capabilities in software-defined vehicles and improve in-car user experiences.

The acquisition includes CloudMade's machine learning models, intellectual property rights, and patents. Stellantis will use these to develop predictive maintenance systems and personalized in-car experiences. Additionally, it will create a Stellantis-specific voice assistant.

Stellantis' goal is to collect and analyze automotive data to improve user experience. The company aims to stay ahead in the rapidly evolving automotive landscape, where only a quarter of automakers and Tier 1 suppliers are fully prepared for software-defined vehicles, according to an AlixPartners survey.

More than 40 CloudMade engineers and software developers will join Stellantis to support AI development. This acquisition follows Stellantis' June joint venture with Foxconn to design and market semiconductors for the automotive industry.

Stellantis' acquisition of CloudMade's AI frameworks will strengthen its position in the software-defined vehicle market. The move will enable predictive maintenance, personalized in-car experiences, and a Stellantis-specific voice assistant. With the support of new engineers and developers, Stellantis is well-positioned to lead in the era of software-defined vehicles.
