Tesla Introduces Fresh Horn Upgrade for Cybertruck Proprietors
Tesla, the innovative electric vehicle company, has announced a new feature for its Cybertruck owners - a customizable horn. The new upgrade, teased by Siddhant Awasthi, Cybertruck Vehicle Program Manager, was officially unveiled last week.
The new horn offers a futuristic twist to the Cybertruck's sound, deviating from the traditional horn sound. Owners can now personalize their vehicle's horn with a new, exciting tone that befits the Cybertruck's unique persona.
To access this feature, Cybertruck owners need to update their Tesla mobile app. Once updated, they will find two options within the app: "Play" and "Upgrade Now". By agreeing to a prompt, the new horn can be enabled, and owners can preview the new sound within the app.
The idea for this individually programmable horn came from Tesla's design and engineering team, led by Elon Musk. The team's "amazing firmware team" was credited with the development of the feature.
The horn upgrade is free for those who wish to move away from traditional sounds. It's important to note that this is a permanent change, and downgrades are not supported.
Tesla's Spring software update, released in April, included the addition of the new horn and lock sounds for the Cybertruck. The upgrade is available to all Cybertruck owners, and no additional software update is required for the feature to appear.
The new horn brings a distinctly futuristic vibe to the Cybertruck, adding another layer of personality to the vehicle. Chuck Cook, a Cybertruck owner, announced the new feature, sharing that the message in the Tesla app reads: "Change your Cybertruck Horn sound with a new exciting tone befitting to vehicle persona."
This innovative approach to vehicle upgrades is part of Tesla's ongoing commitment to providing unique and personalized experiences for its customers. The customizable horn is just one example of how Tesla continues to push the boundaries of what's possible in the automotive industry.
