Top three factors making this Android tablet the best choice for purchase

Hey there, bud! I've been feeling a hankering for a mid-size device, ever since my eyes got a bit long in the tooth. Last year, I found myself desiring something between my foldable phone and laptop. Cue the Lenovo Legion Tab Gen 3, boasting an 8.8-inch, 165Hz display that's currently going for around $450!

Bye-bye to the enormous displays we've been stuck with in flagship tablets, like the 14.6-inch Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra. Smaller options like the Legion Tab Gen 3 have finally entered the market, giving us flagship power without the need for a laptop replacement.

In the past, the only flagship tablets we could get were the larger options, but those days are gone. The Lenovo Legion Tab Gen 3 is now available in the US, after previously being limited to other regions. This bad boy is no joke - it houses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage!

Top-tier performance meets surprising visuals

With the Legion Tab Gen 3, you're getting some serious muscle for your money. Although it may not be rocking the latest chip, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, means you won't be dealing with any noticeable slowdowns, even when dabbling in high-end emulation.

By the way, did you hear about the Y700 4th Gen, sporting the Snapdragon 8 Elite, recently released in China? But, we're still waiting on word if it'll make its way stateside.

This powerhouse is tucked away in a sleek and compact frame, hiding behind an 8.8-inch IPS panel. Typically, I'd complain about the omission of an OLED screen, but this time it's a non-issue. The Legion Tab Gen 3 boasts an impressive display that sits right up there with premium LCD panels at this size.

It's remarkably similar to the panel found on previous Y700 models and the Lenovo Legion Go. It's like Lenovo stumbled across a trove of awesome LCD screens, and it's hard to find fault with that decision.

The perfect tablet for the small-screen fan

There are a couple of reasons why I appreciate the Legion Tab Gen 3 as my digital notebook. First, the matte screen protector makes it a dream to use my stylus. While a larger canvas is sometimes nice, having a scratchpad by my side throughout the day can get cumbersome on larger tablets.

On top of that, the flagship tablet size easily accommodates gaming and emulation. It's technically possible to use the 14.6-inch Tab S10 Ultra with a mobile controller like the GameSir G8 Plus, but trust me - it's a joke.

Instead, the Legion Tab Gen 3 plays nicely with various mobile controllers, meaning you won't look too out of place when playing your favorite games at the airport. Okay, maybe a little out of place, but much less ridiculous than the Tab S10 Ultra.

Few complaints, nonetheless worth every penny

Listen, this isn't the flagship tablet for every need under the sun. I've got one minor gripe - you're restricted to a single storage configuration. Trust me, that won't last long if you're into heavy emulation; you'll be left searching for portable SSDs.

Another curiosity is that Lenovo failed to include biometrics beyond "Face Unlock." I mean, couldn't they have tossed in a fingerprint scanner in the power button for a few nickels? It's not a deal-breaker by any means, but it's a strange and puzzling omission.

Despite these quibbles, the Lenovo Legion Tab Gen 3 cracks my list of favorite tablets this year, and lucky you - it's currently being offered at a discount! Snag it for around $100 off, which is $50 below the original price before import taxes kicked in.

Technology advances continue to bring smaller yet powerful gadgets to the market, such as the Lenovo Legion Tab Gen 3. This device offers a compact size and top-tier performance, perfect for users who desire a mid-size device without compromising on power. With its Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and 12GB of RAM, the Legion Tab Gen 3 is an excellent choice for those seeking a capable Android tablet, especially at its current sale price.
