**Xiaomi's SU7 Ultra Sets New Standards in High-Performance Electric Vehicles**

Xiaomi's car-making arm, iAomi EV, has announced the launch of the SU7 Ultra, an ultra-performance variant of the SU7, which was first introduced in March 2024. The SU7 Ultra is poised to challenge established luxury electric vehicle (EV) brands such as Porsche, Tesla, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi, with a sales target of 10,000 vehicles for the year 2025.

The SU7 Ultra offers a remarkable combination of power, acceleration, and top speed that rivals Porsche's strongest models. In fact, it approaches performance levels comparable to ultra-luxury and hypercar brands like Bugatti, Ferrari, and Rimac. Despite this impressive performance, the SU7 Ultra is priced significantly lower than Porsche models, including the Porsche Taycan and especially the top Turbo GT variant. The standard SU7 Ultra costs approximately 529,900 yuan (~€64,000), and the Nürburgring edition about 814,900 yuan (~€98,000) — prices that are far less expensive than Porsche and other top-tier luxury EV brands.

The SU7 Ultra has already broken records, setting the fastest production electric vehicle lap time at the Nürburgring, completing a lap in just 7 minutes and 4.957 seconds. This impressive feat underscores the SU7 Ultra's superior track performance and reinforces its positioning as a high-performance electric vehicle competing directly with global luxury and performance brands.

Lei, founder, chairman, and CEO of iAomi, expressed his confidence in the SU7 Ultra's sales target, stating that he believes the vehicle will achieve its goal. Orders for the SU7 Ultra opened on February 27, 2025, and within two hours, the sales target was reached, with 6,900 orders secured within the first ten minutes alone. The SU7 Ultra is currently available for pre-order, and the launch event will begin at 7 pm Beijing time on February 27.

In addition to the SU7 Ultra, iAomi is expected to launch the YU7 electric SUV in June or July. The regular SU7, iAomi's first model, was launched on March 28, 2024, at a starting price of RMB 215,900 yuan. Monthly deliveries of the SU7 have exceeded 20,000 units in each of the last four months. A regulatory filing indicates that a 2-seat option has been added for the SU7 Ultra.

With the SU7 Ultra, iAomi aims to match Porsche in performance, Tesla in technology, and BBA (Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi) in luxury, while offering these features at a more accessible price point. This unique positioning sets the SU7 Ultra apart from established luxury EV makers and positions it as a formidable competitor in the high-performance electric vehicle market.
