United Airlines First Mainline Aircraft Certified for Starlink

United Airlines has received Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification for its first mainline aircraft equipped with Starlink. The Boeing 737-800 will make its first commercial flight on October 15 from Newark/New York, offering passengers high-speed internet connectivity.

United has been progressively integrating Starlink into its fleet. It has already installed the technology on more than half of its regional aircraft, with customers praising the improved in-flight connectivity. The FAA has approved Starlink's Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) amendment for the Boeing 737-800, allowing United to expand its Starlink-equipped fleet to its mainline aircraft.

Starlink aims to secure FAA approval for all United aircraft types to receive the new equipment. United plans to offer a range of services via Starlink on its mainline aircraft, including streaming services, shopping, and gaming. The first commercial flight with Starlink on a mainline United aircraft is scheduled for October 15.
