Sporting a military-minded design, the Submersible S BRABUS Verde Militare Edition carries on the legacy of its predecessors while introducing fresh materials and a revolutionary new aesthetic.
Swiss and German craftsmanship at its finest
The partnership between watches titan Panerai and luxury automotive brand BRABUS began a year ago, with a shared vision to dazzle with technology, style, and performance. Drawing on their respective expertise in crafting timepieces and high-performance vehicles for the adventurous and the sea-faring, together they created a line of watches that harmoniously merged their unique proficiencies, forming a compelling, single identity. The Panerai Submersible S BRABUS Verde Militare Edition is the fruit of their latest collaboration, produced in a limited run of 200 pieces and inspired by BRABUS Marine Shadow stealth green powerboats.
Enter the world of Carbotech and Caliber P. 4001/S
Its striking 47mm case is made of Carbotech, a composite material noted for its lightweight feel compared to steel and titanium, as well as its remarkable resistance to corrosion. This composite was specially developed by Panerai for modern explorers braving extreme conditions. A hint of the Marine Shadow's green color lends pops of color to the hands, rehaut, rubberized crown, am/pm indicator, and small seconds sub-dial. Meanwhile, the BRABUS emblem adorns the movement levers and loop.
At the heart of the Submersible S BRABUS Verde Militare Edition beats the Caliber P. 4001/S, a descendant of Panerai's original P.4000 caliber—the first automatic movement equipped with an off-centre micro-rotor, developed by the Panerai Manufacture at Neuchatel. This revamped caliber is self-winding and skeletonized, offering a three-day power reserve, reflected in an indicator on the case's reverse side. This skeletonized movement is transparent, unobstructed by a date disc, which can only be seen through the window at 3 o'clock thanks to a patented polarized date display.
A streamlined, skeletonized masterpiece
Various modifications have been made to make the bridges and plates as sparse as possible, ensuring the focus remains on the watch's functioning innards for a lightweight feel. The unidirectional rotating bezel tracks immersion time and GMT time zone, while the centrally located, single-piece oscillating weight enables both clockwise and counterclockwise winding. Additionally, the watch sports a stop balance wheel and seconds reset function, enabling the time to be synchronized with an external reference signal. The watch is water-resistant to 30 bars (approx. 300 meters).
Exclusive, limited to just 200 pieces, the Submersible S BRABUS Verde Militare Edition showcases a skeletonized structure, is water-resistant to 30 bars (300 meters), and comes equipped with two straps, one black bi-material design and another military green rubber model.
