ViasChile & Emovis Partner to Upgrade Electronic Tolling System on Santiago's Busiest Highway

ViasChile has initiated a substantial project to enhance its electronic tolling system, collaborating with global specialist Emovis. The new Operational Back Office (OBO) solution, crafted by Emovis, aims to bolster productivity and data precision on Chile's busiest highways.

The OBO system, set to influence Autopista Central, Santiago's largest urban highway, is part of ViasChile's Operational Domain Design Project. Emovis, with a decade of experience in free-flow tolling systems, will assist ViasChile throughout the implementation, from defining business rules to integrating with third-party systems.

The adaptable Emovis Qualify solution can accommodate any roadside system, ensuring 100% management of transactions sent by various robots and algorithms. Emovis CEO Christian Barrientos emphasized the system's capability to handle high-volume data with minimal manual intervention, customized to local client needs worldwide.

The contract, inked in May 2024, will span 18 months, with the first phase commencing in July. The OBO implementation is spearheaded by ViasChile's Commercial Operation Area, Technology and Innovation team, and Processes and Environment Area.

The OBO system, designed to progress and cater to the needs of stakeholders in Chile, is anticipated to significantly enhance electronic transaction processing productivity and data quality on Autopista Central. With Emovis' expertise and 10-year record, ViasChile looks forward to a smoother, more efficient tolling experience for its users.
