Working knowledge of building and customizing WooCommerce websites is often expected, especially for e-commerce projects.
As a WordPress Website Developer, you'll be responsible for translating business and UX requirements into structured WordPress architectures, building reusable custom theme elements and plugins, and ensuring themes and plugins maintain mobile responsiveness, cross-browser compatibility, and accessibility compliance. You'll collaborate with design and backend teams to deliver pixel-perfect, performant sites.
Beyond technical ability, important soft skills include a strong eye for design and visual consistency, detail orientation and craftsmanship in coding, good time management and independence in problem-solving, openness to feedback and collaboration within teams. Additional capabilities may include developing SEO-friendly components and optimized landing pages to improve conversion rates, knowledge of WordPress Gutenberg block system for building modern custom blocks, troubleshooting via logs and version history, and managing plugin and theme updates for security and performance.
