"Worn-out, vintage appeal sought after: Nitro-aged finishes, old-school pickups, and neck styles, Fender's new Vintera II Road Worn collection maintains classic tone for contemporary guitarists"
Fender Introduces Limited Edition Vintera II Road Worn Series
Fender, a renowned name in the world of electric guitars and basses, has unveiled a new limited edition series – the Vintera II Road Worn. This collection is designed to recreate the Golden Era Fender tone and feel, with authentic aged nitrocellulose lacquer finishes, vintage-accurate pickups, and era-correct neck shapes that hark back to the 1950s and 1960s.
The Vintera II Road Worn series includes a variety of models – a '60s Stratocaster available in Sonic Blue or Black, a '60s Telecaster in Burgundy Mist Metallic or Blonde, a '50s Jazzmaster in Fiesta Red or 3-Color Sunburst, and a '60s Precision Bass in Charcoal Mist Metallic or Fiesta Red.
The '60s Stratocaster, with its trio of vintage-voiced Strat single-coil pickups, 2-point synchronized tremolo system, and vintage-style tuning machines, is a standout model in the series. The Burgundy Mist Metallic '60s Telecaster, on the other hand, adds a touch of elegance with its classic design.
The Jazzmasters in the series offer a floating vibrato system and the Lead/Rhythm circuit. The '50s Jazzmaster comes in two variants – Fiesta Red with a rosewood fingerboard and 3-Color Sunburst with a maple fingerboard, both featuring anodized gold pickguards. The '60s Stratocaster and Telecaster models, on the other hand, have slab rosewood and maple fingerboards, respectively.
The Precision Bass in the series retails at £1,399/$1,599, while the '60s Stratocaster and Jazzmasters are priced at £1,349/$1,599 and £1,399/$1,699, respectively. The Black Stratocaster might appeal to David Gilmour superfans due to its potential for a matching black pickguard.
MusicRadar's review of the Vintera II Road Worn '50s Jazzmaster praised its superb playability, knock-out tone, and retro mojo, despite some buzz in the bridge common to many models of this style. The neck profiles of the series offer the same feel as their vintage counterparts.
All instruments in the Vintera II Road Worn series are built in Fender's Ensenada, Mexico facility. The series is a limited edition run, making these vintage-inspired instruments a coveted addition to any guitar or bass collection.
The Vintera II Road Worn series is a testament to Fender's commitment to preserving the spirit of the Golden Era while offering modern players the opportunity to experience the iconic Fender tone and feel.
