Ykt.Ru offers digital video game content for purchase and download.
Yakutia-based digital media company Ykt.Ru announces the establishment of a new division, YktGames, dedicated to publishing and promoting video games on an international scale. This marks Ykt.Rus first foray into the gaming industry.
Vladislav Petrov, General Director of Ykt.Ru, looks forward to fostering local game development talent with the launch of YktGames. The inaugural project is a hunting simulator called BULT, developed by Petrov and Eugene Pashkov. BULT successfully completed pre-alpha testing on VK Play and ranked among the top 18 best games of 2024. Scheduled for release on Steam in 2025 under the YktGames label, BULT serves as a promising introduction to YktGames' capabilities.
After the release of BULT, Pashkov's studio Nordrise will publish its games through YktGames, signaling the start of a long-term collaboration. YktGames aims to collaborate with additional independent developers from Yakutia, offering comprehensive publishing assistance.
"We intend to serve as a launchpad for local talents on the global market," stated Petrov.
YktGames' ultimate goal is to provide a platform for Yakutian talent to break into the international gaming scene. Strategies for achieving this may include offering financial support, development resources, and mentoring to local developers. Additionally, YktGames could develop incubators or accelerators, organize collaborative events, and tailor marketing efforts for international audiences. By forging partnerships with other independent studios and using digital distribution platforms, YktGames aims to expand its reach worldwide.
